Lauren Rebecca Consky, a daughter of Helene I. Consky and Dr. Charles L. Consky of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, is to be married there on Sunday at the Ravine Vineyard to Daniel Moshe Scolnic, a son of Dorene T. Scolnic and Rabbi Benjamin E. Scolnic of Hamden, Conn. The groom’s father is to officiate, with permission from the Office of the Registrar General in Ontario.

The bride, 30, is a director at DCI Group, a public affairs firm in Washington. She graduated from McGill University and received a master’s degree in international relations and economics from Johns Hopkins University.

Her father is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Niagara Falls, Ontario; his practice is managed by the bride’s mother. He is also the chief of dental medicine for the Niagara Health System in St. Catharines, Ontario; a clinical instructor in dentistry at the University of Toronto; and a lecturer in dentistry at the McMaster University School of Medicine in Hamilton, Ontario.

The groom, 28, expects to receive a doctoral degree in astrophysics from Johns Hopkins in September. He is studying accelerating expansion of the universe in an effort to define dark energy, the substance that physicists believe makes up roughly 70 percent of the universe. His research is conducted in Baltimore for the Panoramic Survey Telescope and Rapid Response System, a program at the Haleakala Observatory in Hawaii financed by the Air Force, with the mission of finding asteroids on a collision course with Earth. Mr. Scolnic graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Last year, he was recognized by the governor of Maryland as a volunteer mentor of young refugees in Baltimore.

His mother is a social worker at Yale-New Haven Hospital, and provides support for heart-transplant patients. His father, the spiritual leader at Temple Beth Sholom in Hamden, is the author of “If the Egyptians Drowned in the Red Sea, Where are Pharaoh’s Chariots?” and other books. He is also an adjunct professor of Judaic studies at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven

Dr. Anna Yasmine Kirkorian and Daniel Murray Gonen are to be married Sunday at the Inn at West Settlement in Roxbury, N.Y. Federal District Court Judge John Gleeson, who presides in Brooklyn and for whom the groom was a law clerk in 2011 and 2012, is to officiate.

The bride, 31, is known as Yasmine; she will be called Dr. Kirkorian-Gonen professionally. She is the chief resident for dermatology at the Robert Wood Johnson campus of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, in New Brunswick, N.J. She graduated with highest distinction from the University of Virginia and received a medical degree from Mount Sinai’s school of medicine. In July, she is to become a fellow in pediatric dermatology at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center in Baltimore.

She is the daughter of Dr. Elena O. Kirkorian of Jackson Heights, Queens, and Dr. Aram A. Kirkorian of Woodbury, N.Y. Her father is a dentist in Melville, N.Y. Her mother, who is retired, was an obstetrician-gynecologist in Kingston, N.Y.

The groom, 32, is a staff lawyer at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and received a law degree magna cum laude from Harvard.

He is the son of Lynn and Natan Gonen of Hollis Hills, Queens. His father is an operations manager at J. Homan, a wholesale jeweler in Huntington, N.Y. The groom’s mother, a librarian, retired as the manager for youth services in the central branch of the Queens Library, in Jamaica.

Mrs. Kastens, 28, is a producer who books guests in Washington for two ABC News programs, “Good Morning America” and “This Week.” She graduated from Brown.

She is a daughter of Susan Collins Bosland and Richard G. Bosland of Summit, N.J. Her mother is the head of Kent Place School, a girls’ school in Summit. Her father is an executive search consultant in Summit.

Mr. Kastens, also 28, is a legislative assistant in Washington for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and was the personal assistant to Senator Edward M. Kennedy until Mr. Kennedy’s death in 2009. He graduated from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in Kutztown, Pa., and received a master’s in government from Johns Hopkins.

He is a son of Theana Yatron Kastens of Fairfax, Va., and Mr. Kastens Jr. of Vienna. The groom’s mother is an English professor who teaches at the Woodbridge, Va., campus of Northern Virginia Community College. His father, a United Nations diplomat, is the head of strategy for the department of tactical cooperation at the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna.
